PivotTrue® Single Constant Force Coil Window Balance for Double Hung Windows – Select Weight

The PivotTrue® single constant force coil window balance system is designed as a replacement for double hung windows using a constant force coil balance mechanism. This fully assembled unit features a single spring coil and is compatible with a wide range of window profiles and pivot bar designs. Each coil is marked with a specific number, letter, or both—found near the start of the J-shaped spring—to indicate its weight rating. This ensures you can choose the right balance strength for your window sash weight and achieve smooth, reliable operation.

The balance shoe is sized for common window tracks, measuring 1-1/4" (31.8mm) wide, 1-7/16" (36.5mm) long, and 9/16" (14.3mm) thick, fitting a 1/2" carrier system. Overall length of the housing with one coil is 2-5/8" (66.7mm). The zinc cam in the pivot lock shoe is made to work with round head pivot bars, but will also accept other pivot bar shapes. Pivot bars (not included) come in different sizes, profiles, and hole patterns to suit various window manufacturers. For weight identification, some pivot lock shoes also use a color-coded stripe, matching the coil's specification.

• Each coil is available in a range of weight ratings, stamped with numbers and/or letters:
• 3A (brown): supports 4–6 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 4B (red): supports 7–8 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 5C (blue): supports 9–10 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 6D (yellow): supports 11–12 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 7E (green): supports 13–14 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 8F: supports 15–16 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 9J: supports 17–18 lbs (when used in pairs)
• 10K: supports 19–20 lbs (when used in pairs)
• Some pivot lock shoes may show a color coded stripe at the bottom indicating weight rating
• Compatible with round head and other shaped pivot bars (sold separately)

This balance is typically sold individually. For most installations, two coils (one for each side) are required to support a window sash, so please check your application. Always confirm the number or letter stamped on your existing coil or measure your hardware precisely to ensure the correct fit and weight before ordering. Improper sizing may result in malfunction or damage—double-check measurements prior to purchase.
