Ashland G3 PivotTrue Triple Spring Constant Force Coil Window Balance

The Ashland PivotTrue G3 is a fully assembled, triple-coil constant force window balance used in double-hung windows to counterbalance the weight of the sash so it slides up and down smoothly and stays in place when opened.

Each of the three J-shaped coil springs is stamped near the top with a number, letter, or combination (for example "7E," "7EL," and "7EXL") that identifies the individual coil's weight rating. Triple-coil sets like this one carry a per-coil range of roughly 6–10 lbs, so a matched set of three 7-stamped coils in a pair of balances will typically support a sash weighing about 39–40 lbs.

The pivot lock shoe uses a zinc cam designed for a round-head pivot bar, though other pivot bar shapes will generally work. Pivot bars are sold separately in a variety of lengths, shapes, and hole patterns to match different window manufacturers.
