This pre-assembled 985 Series Centurion constant force coil balance assembly is designed with a 3/4" (19.1mm) wide interlocking coil spring, making it suitable for vinyl single hung or double hung windows with a standard 1-1/4" (32mm) wide by 3/4" (19.1mm) deep pocket. The tandem (double-coil) configuration provides balanced and consistent window operation for sashes weighing between 5.5 lbs and 9.5 lbs (2.5kg - 4.3kg).
The universal single coil balance features a metal spring clip side locking brake for secure installation. Interlocking coil springs allow the use of single, double, triple, or quad assemblies to match various sash weight requirements, increasing flexibility during repairs or replacements. Tandem assemblies like this one are commonly used to restore smooth and reliable function to vinyl windows with worn or broken balances.
